R.i.p Whitney Houston You were one of a kind, and we will live you and miss you forever.

Yes, i know, i have been absent for a long time. November i had NaNo, and if you know anything about that you know that you have NO time or energy to do anything but that the whole month. I won! And then December was of course crazy and horrible all at the same time. I’m happy it’s all over. So anyway here’s how my hair looked in the time elapsed since you last saw me.

Every year i begin to get the itch. For mini twists, that is. So i began the incredibly painstaking task of putting them in myself. I washed and conditioned, of course and DC’d with my new favorite deep conditioner, Organics Olive Oil Deep conditioner. I left it on in a bag with some extra sweet almond oil for 30 minutes then rinsed and proceeded to blow dry.

Next up, was starting to actually twist. I used only pure shea butter while i was twisting. I began parting the hair diagonally, ( though you can’t tell from the picture. I’m horrible at parting blind.) But some time though the process that went out of the window. As it always does. You begin with the greatest intentions and end, just happy that you survived.

Don’t ask me how long it took, because honestly i have no idea. The middle of my head ( which is also the hardest for me to reach.) Stayed un-twisted for about a week. Shameful, yes i know. But im my defense these twists were much smaller than the ones i did the last time.

By the end they were still somewhat tiny and stiff, and the ends remained straight throughout the twising process. But the first day that i wore them out. It rained, and what do you know, they plumped up and the ends curled.

They ended up staying in for 4 or 5 weeks, and the only reason why i took them down was because they were beginning to become unraveled at the roots and my scalp was itchy. I wanted to keep them in longer but, yea. Next time i will braid a couple inches at the roots then twist the length.

The take down was only about an hour maybe two.

Next day hair was the twist out with a flat twist in the front, because i was too tired to even think about washing it that night.

Don't give up on The Regiment, girl! I did it a year ago and my face is flawless now and I still use it! Check out my page cause I just posted before and after pictures. Good luck! =)

My answer:

Thanks! I haven’t given up, i’ve just been pretty lazy with posting for a while. I hope to have something up soon. Congrats on your success! I’ll definitely check out your before and afters.

I have been completely lazy with my hair for the last 2 weeks. I haven’t done anything but slick it back into a bun every morning and stuff it in my satin cap at night. Gasp! Yes i know, shameful. Well today i finally had enough (not to mention my scalp was itching like crazy) i went ahead and washed it. I used Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoo and condish. Detangling was a bit longer than normal and i lost a good amount of hair (which i expected because it was 2 weeks of shed hair), but i emerged from the shower clean, detangled and super soft!

(can you spy my Giovanni products in the background?)

Next i sectioned my hair off into four parts and applied my go to deep conditioner Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque, put on a plastic processing cap and proceeded to waste lots of time on tumblr stalking the pottermore tag for about 30 mins.

After i rinsed that out, i proceeded to do my normal wash and go routine, using the following products.

Here are some pics of what it looked like when i was finished.

(excuse the eyebrows, i’m growing them back)

And a few pictures of it mostly dry.

And i just stuffed it into a stretched satin cap, making sure that all the hairs are pointed in the same direction, and that’s how i’m going to sleep.

GOODNIGHT!

So in case you’ve been wondering why i just deleted a lot of HP related posts…I have actually been posting all this stuff on the wrong blog….so if you started following me because of those posts you should follow my second blog.
